One of the creators of Cache, Shawn "FMPONE" Snelling, has announced that the rework of the map is now complete and that it will be played in a showmatch at ESL One New York. FMPONE announced the news in a video, stating that he and Salvatore "Volcano" Garozzo, the original creator of Cache, have completed the rework of the map that has been out of the main rotation since late March, when Valve announced the addition of Vertigo to the Active Duty map pool. ![]() The official revelation of the new Cache will take place on Sunday, September 29, at ESL One New York and be played in a showmatch featuring professional players immediately afterwards, before the grand final of the $200,000 tournament begins. Fans who attend the event live will also be able to play the map ahead of its release to the public in ESEA's booth at the Barclays Center between the maps of the grand final, as well as give feedback on it to the two creators. ![]() |
